reflection: From Sip to Slip

Browsing throught the readers' digest june copy, I have came upon an article which caught my attention. From sip to slip.

As mentioned in the article, researches had suggested people to take in a small amount of alcohol daily as it can prevent heart diseases. However it seemed to be a false result, as in fact, it does not help in preventing heart diseases at all, although it does not do any harm either.

In my opinion, having a sip of wine daily could do not much harm to your body. Also, even if the research might not be true, but no harm trying, since there are no side effects in sipping a little wine daily. Nevertheless, do not get addicted in drinking. As what the title of this article had suggested, the sip might be increased to slip as many could not control their amount of wine intake once they got addicted.

But if one is a non-drinker, then maybe one should not try to take up sipping alcohol daily since it does not have any effects. It is still better being a non-drinker as one would never get addicted to alcohol because he or she had not even tried it. The chances of contracting liver cancer will also be largely reduced since the alcohol is not present in the body to do any harm to the liver.

Thus I feel that the government should try to do something about this problem to help people to control their intake of alcohol by making it taste more bitter, so that less people would buy them. Also, they could increase the price of alcohol as mentioned in the article. Lastly, they can import less crates of wine or beer so that when the stock is limited, the people could not do anything no matter how much money they are willing to fork out.
