This is the first time that I heard of someone taking another person's identity. I feel utmost disgust and irate at the person who took Karen Lodrick's identity. Not only did she take away the money that Lodrick had earned and saved, she also caused Lodrick's life to be a living hell. People nowadays only take civil moral lessons for the sake of taking it. They know how to differentiate between right and wrong actions however they either simply do not care or they think that lives of other people don't matter so long as they are living their life the way they want to, it is almost as if they do not have a conscience.
I feel that this article is very good as it shows us the dire consequences of when your identity is taken by other and it also helps you by at least giving u a clue as to what to do. I think the case of Lodrick's identity stolen is not the only one and I hope that there can be an improved system that will prevent identities being stolen and used by another other person than its true owner.
I also think that people should be more sympathetic towards these kind of situations. Lodrick's creditors, bank and many more have not made much effort in helping her and only give some rather depressing remarks, this really reflects badly on our society. Are the people nowadays so ill-mannered and unsympathetic that they only know how to ask and take and not give? Giving help when someone needs it, isn't it supposed to be a natural thing? I think everyone ought to try and put themselves in the shoes of others and act towards others like how you would want others to treat you. Imagine if your own identity was stolen, would you like people to just sit there and watch and do nothing to help you? I'm sure that no one likes that so why is it that people are treating others in such a hateful manner? Saying things like 'It's not my business' or 'Why should i care?' is not helpful at all, even't if one can't help, the least one can do would be offer consolation and at least try to help a bit.
What I learned most from this article was to be careful with what I do. The world is a harsh reality in which anything can happen so we have got to be on our toes all time.
Last but not least, Lodrick's story warns us to be careful and alert to our surroundings. It just takes one small mistake and it could ruin your life forever, when that happens the only thing you can do would be accept the consequences and do your best so it does not harm to be wary. Like what my parents always remind me, it's better to be safe than sorry!
